I really like referrals. So, question for Atlanta mamas: name/instructor of a childbirth class that you recommend for first timers? (Prefferably a natural childbirth class, but I'm looking for all feedback.) Danke. : )

I highly recommend a Bradley Birth class. It's a 12 wk, 2 hr per wk class that educates you on childbirth and breast feeding, with an emphasis on natural birth. I had both my kids with no meds. It's very empowering and amazing! http://www.bradleybirth.com/
Anyone know where lamaze classes are held? My epidural failed with Ryleigh & I refuse to get another one after how terrible the anesthesiologist was & the back pains I get from both of them. I know I can do all natural since I already have once practically. I would like to learn some breathing techniques so I don't almost hyperventilate again and Jacob could learn some ways to help me not focus on the pain. Thanks.
Hey I just found out I'm pregnant with my second baby. My last was delivered via cesarean 17mths ago. I think the docs were impatient and I didn't need a c-sec. I'm really hoping for VBAC. Wondering if anyone knows of any good doctors for that in Sioux Falls, SD. Preferably in the Sandford network cuz that is what my insurance covers. I can not afford to travel for this.
Shannon M. replied:
I don't know any doctors but I really recommend midwives in the hospital setting. That was the best of both worlds for us. Also, We used the Bradley Method to achieve our VBAC and could not have been happier with it. It was real and true education of what is happening in your body and with your baby at each stage and includes real life coping methods that really work for pain management, shifting the baby, knowing where you are in labor, and self advocacy. The Bradley Method also relies heavily on the use of the birthing partner, husband, etc. I strongly recommend it. You can find teachers for that on www.bradleybirth.com.

I've been gone from ATL for about 2 years now, but there is a VERY active and integrated Bradley Teacher network---go to Bradleybirth.com and search for a teacher---if you want a hospital birth--Margaret Strickhauser is the only one I can recommend---HTH
Hey ladies, I have a friend in Savannah, GA who is expecting her second child. She is in need of support from other moms and birth professionals. I was hoping someone could give me some guidance on...
