Solo in New Zealand Hey all,
I have just recently landed in New Zealand for a last minute business trip for the next month. I'm currently in New Plymouth which is a smaller city on the western coast of the north island. Since I am here for work, my lodging is all covered, but because of this unfortunately I'm not going to be able to do much (if any) travel during the week, but should have weekends to myself. I know Mt. Taranaki has some great hikes, but a few of the guys around town have mentioned it can get a bit dangerous this time of year so I'm not entirely sure if that is something I'd want to do solo. I looked into going snowboarding on Mt. Ruapehu as well so I think if the weather permits and the powder is good I will be doing that. The last thing that is on my list is the default touristy trip to Hobbiton. Does anyone have any other recommendations on where to go and what to see? Would anyone want to meet up for a beer?
Thanks in advance!
