Considering a mid-October U.P. Vacation....... Hoping this is the appropriate place to post this!
My wife and I have never been to the U.P.... We love the outdoors and are looking for a vacation to truly get away, do some outdoors stuff and relax. Were from SE metro Detroit and are looking at Marquette, Munising, or Paradise areas.... Looking to Reddit for advice, suggestions, cautions, etc.... Couple of questions in particular:
Any nice lodging suggestions? We really love rustic type of places...
Any can't miss things to do? We've looked at the obvious, Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon falls but what else is there?
How is the weather up there around this time of the year?
Any cool stuff to do with a Jeep?
Cool golf course suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you plan to explore, bring a Michigan atlas with you, something with good detail of the U.P. (Logging roads and such.) There are lots of areas without GPS/cell service. People get lost all the time, even if they normally have a good handle on directions. You might like the Fireplace Suite at the Pictured Rocks Inn. We’ve stayed there several times. https://www.picturedrocksinn.com/accommodations/
