Hi I am in Vermont and am wondering if anyone knows how I would sell a bunch of Ham radios and accessories. They where my grand fathers and we have no idea how to go about finding people in the area who would be interested in buying them
Where is the best place to find a reasonably priced SWR meter for checking 2 meter? I don't want to spend half of my radio money on a meter. BTW, for those of you who were in on the radio conversation with me in the last week or so I have decided on a radio. I am going with the ICOM IC2300H.

I would check all the used ware sites for some older equipment like QTH.com.
sometimes you have to over look a guys personality the good ones are assholes and sometimes they don't even know it. It must be nice to have so much work that you can pick and choose who you work for my experience is this guy N4DA is a very good tech. Although he will not do anything for me so I learned to fix my own gear. like I said he is a asshole. Im not rich enough for his service so he will not do anything for me. He did some work for me in thee 90 s got paid then wouldn't do anything else for me. I must of done something to piss him off so maybe that's why he is a asshole to me. Regardless I learned to fix my stuff. I would suggest you do the same. He was in the middle of building 4 8877 amp in a cabinet when I took my radio to him. Like I said he fixed it took my money then I had more work for him a few years latter and he would never call me back or answer his phone. Fixing a radio can be as easy as replacing a board. surface mount components CPU's and stuff like that its better just to find a board from a scraped radio Ebay is a good place to start for parts. http://www.qth.com/ is a good place to put a want out for a part. qrz.com is another good place to put a want out What does the radio do or not do. Get a copy of the service manual and read it.
I've had my own domain and web page since 1998. I had good luck for years editing my page with MS Frontpage 2003. Frontpage is now antique and buggy. Can anyone recommend a simple HTML editor? I just...
Hi, I might suggest a Wordpress site for you page... Take a look at QTH.COM. He hosts web pages for hams, and has a Wordpress site. It makes web work simple. It is somewhat restrictive, but on the whole it makes for an easy to update site, than can look really slick if one takes the time. Wordpress is a server based CMS, (sort of), that allows you to make updates to your site via an iPad, or an old Atari if you can get a web browser into it.
looking for a web host...any faves, raves, or must avoids?

Look into QTH.com. Run by a ham, for many hams but not exclusively. Hosts Dashtoons. Extremely responsive service, the few times I needed and often the owner answers the live help, at night! Like ยท Dec 8, 2013

I've used QTH.com and Laughing Squid; both great. If you're looking to build a site or blog, though, you might consider Squarespace. Sometimes pricier than other options, but integrated iTunes support for podcasting, bullet-proof bandwidth (for when you get mentioned on Oprah), no malware issues and easy to build sites. I run http://shortwavearchive.com/ on it. 'Course, if you need a traditional webhost and server, Squarespace doesn't really do that.
Anyone know a good web hosting company that can get us a dedicated server/vm for around $150/month? Need at least 5TB/month of bandwidth too. Bluehost is experiencing way too many outages for what we pay right now.

I talked to my friend Scott Neader who owns QTH.com. They don't offer that level of service, but he has some suggestions for you. He used to be very highly placed at CenturyLink before he left to start his own hosting company. He was my personal contact and go to guy. He said he would be happy to talk to you. Drop him a line at scott@qth.com - he knows Kyuss, Netrougue, Mellsie, etc.

Would anyone know of a good place to find a 4 pin power connector for a 480? I need to find one locally if possible. I'm trying to make a power cable for my 480HX. I have found the fuse holder at...
Exactly... The antenna works PERFECTLY. I mounted it briefly over the weekend and checked it out, only to find it won't work with a Turbo Tuner. But it certainly does work and my TS-480 really plays well with it. I have the manual up/down switch and that all works like a champ! Anyway, I just listed the antenna for sale this morning on QTH.com. It is new aside for my testing. Perhaps someone else can take advantage of it. I will either buy the newer style Tarheel or something else that I can use the T/Tuner for. '73, Mike
