Looking for resources for substance abuse My friend is an alcoholic and needs help. He recently lost his job (missed several days of work from a bing he was on) and doesn’t have money or insurance. I’m willing to put a few hundred on my for emergencies credit card but I know that won’t go far for treatment. He has attended an aa meeting once a week for the last month but that doesn’t seem to be doing the trick alone and he has mentioned the meetings are mostly full of people who have to be there for legal reasons and so it’s hard to feel comfortable there.
Is there any programs, meetings, etc that anyone can recommend in the area that are low cost? Any advise is appreciated.

WestCare has an outpatient substance abuse program. You can contact them here: 611 E. Belmont Fresno, CA 93701 TEL: (559) 237-3420 He should qualify for services paid by Medi-Cal which he needs to sign up for if he hasn't already done so. There are other outpatient programs as well I believe through Turning Point. Dialing 2-1-1 would be wise, a clearing house for resources in the community. Quite helpful. If I can help with anymore info feel free to message me.
