  LAWRENCE-AREA FRIENDS: a friend has asked me to post on her behalf in hopes that she can get some useful advice. Tl;dr - naturopath familiar with the role of hormones in breast cancer recovery needed. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of August. I had a mastectomy in mid September. I will not need chemo or radiation; however, I tested positive for hormone receptors which are indicators of my likelihood of developing cancer in my left breast. The preventive treatment recommended by my doctor is taking nasty hormone blockers that have side effects. I am looking for a naturopath in Lawrence who specifically understands the role of hormones in cancer and has experience helping people optimize their health and survival through nutrition and supplements. She is open to traveling to KC and Topeka if that's where her best options are, however, the commute is exhausting and she would strongly prefer a practitioner in Lawrence.
