  Start reading reviews on Sound and Vision.com to educate yourself. Don't buy anything until you have properly demoed it. Call me and I will take you shopping. Most of the folks here have identified the right brand, Samsung. OLED is the new Holy Grail but type depends on budget. LCD's, LED/LCD'S use the same type of display technology but use different types of backlighting. They are usually the least expensive but sometimes suffer from poor black levels which degrade the picture and poor off axis viewing. Plasmas have better black level and off axis viewing, but use for power. However they still use less then the old CPT based sets. OLED is supposed to be the best of all worlds with great color, black levels and everything else, but they are new tech and the most expensive. I plan on making my next set an OLED, 4K, 3D, 65 incher. And it will be from Samsung.
