I have a bit of a conundrum. We had our flat roof done maybe 5 years ago but it is leaking again, and we've already completely replaced the ceiling with the leaks. The original roofer came and said the issue is actually the chimney degrading and letting water in.
Meanwhile, different roofers came to do the shingles ( a different job), and while they were up on the top they said that our flat roof looks like it needs replacing. I said it had just been done a few years back and they said no way, it is in very bad shape. It had not been done, they felt.
So I'm wondering how I find someone who might be able to come up on the flat roof and give me an honest answer - was the flat roof replaced? Does the chimney need repair? I can't stomach the thought of replacing a flat roof after only a few years.
Any advice/ tips/ recommendations?
