  Looking for specialists in Chicago or Ann Arbor Been having symptoms for 5 months. Mostly ear fullness, tinnitus, jaw pain. No clicking yet. Got a upper nightguard from my dentist who is supposedly trained to treat TMJ for 500 and it worked for 3 weeks or so and went back to hurting again. After a follow up he wanted 4000 to build a new dental appliance that would pull my lower jaw forward and lock it in place while I sleep since the other one didnt work. Couldn't justify the payment and now Im sitting in my livingroom with the EEEEEEEE whispering in my ear and I'm a little upset. What are the best steps toward some relief? Looking for options in Chicago mostly but Ill be in Ann Arbor for another month.

  There’s a tmj doc that’s from Chicago who posts here a lot. Dr. Ira Shapiro. Ive looked into him but he was too far away. His YouTube channel has some pretty good testimonials. Ultimately though it is up to you to decide if neuromuscular dentistry is worth jt. I got it done (the mouth appliance) and while I had a lot of improvement, I never got full symptom relief.
