  Best local mechanic + tire place? Hi all! Former Iowan here. My brother lives in Des Moines. I've completed a little project car for my brother to drive around. Unfortunately, I do not live there so I cannot continue to maintain the car for him and my brother is not much of a car guy. I don't want some shop to completely screw him over when it comes time for maintenance, unexpected repairs, or ruin the work I've put into it. Would you guys mind dropping some good local mechanics and tire places? I'd prefer a Honda master technician qual or some sort of similar accolade. It's not necessary, but would be nice since the car is an Acura. Thanks in advance! **Edit: thank you all a ton for the great responses!! I will definitely be looking into these shops!**

  Mechanic- Iowa Auto Repair 9901 Douglas Ave Des Moines 50322 515-276-8632. Douglas and 100 th Street. Just down the street from Homemakers. We've been going here for years. I trust them and prices are fair. My brother-in-law is a mechanic (but lives out of town) and he's always agreed with their diagnosis and estimates.

  Iowa Auto Repair saved me one weekend with a quick turn around a fraction of the other estimates. http://iarepair.com/ Been going there exclusively for a few years now.
