  Ok guys I took my laptop to geek squad to get it repaired. I found out I need a new hard drive and the lcd cover assembly. They want 350 dollars and they won't transfer my data from my hard drive so all my sons baby pictures will be gone and I won't have my Microsoft word and all that. Is this a reasonable price without transferring the pictures or is there someone you know that can do it better and cheaper.

  I have not used them, but I have heard good things about SI Computers on 407. I would give them a call and get a second opinion, (972) 966-6100. I agree on just spending the money on a new laptop and use a service to transfer the data.

  Need local computer help please. Have a hard drive that worked well in my NAS. It recently started shutting the NAS off. We put the drive in an enclosure and hooked it to my laptop's usb. It is recognized by the laptop but a drive letter isn't installed so I can't access it. I am afraid the drive might have gone bad but I MUST get the items off of it.
