Even pulled out the ole hand lens to take a closer look at one... looked bang-on to the description/identification. Baits don't seem to be very effective. Not an infestation by any means.   We live in the Orchard and tons of carpenter ants and carpenter bees. A friend of a neighbour came a couple of years ago and put some bait but it was useless. This year a door-to-door salesperson from Terminix Canada sold us a package, not cheap! They seem pretty thorough and put traps around the house, placed bait.
