Best dim sum in SF? Hey, I'm a tourist in San Francisco that's going to eat dim sum tomorrow. I heard that it's really good in San Francisco and I'm stuck between good mong kok bakery and hang ah tea room. They both look good and reasonably priced. What do you recommend? If there's any other suggestions where the locals eat please comment thank you.

Good Mong Kuk & Delicious Dim Sum are some good options in Chinatown if you want quick dim sum to go. For sit down, I did enjoy City View. However, the general consensus is that Chinatown DOES NOT have best dim sum in the city. Ones considered "best" or highly regarded in SF are: Hong Kong Lounge, Dragon Beaux, and Koi Palace. They all have long lines so you need to get there before they open. Happy dim sum-ing!

Koi Palace is probably best all-round, but it's a bit of a hike. Ton Kiang is good for cart style. Lai Hong is about the best you'll get in Chinatown. A new fancy place that's good is Palette Tea House in Ghiardelli Square.

There is also a new place from the Koi Palace group called Palette Tea House.
