Good dog training in Rockford? I have a Shiba who's about 18 months old. He's a pretty well behaved dog, never seems to show aggression towards other dogs, but he's usually only meeting them through a fence or as they walk by in the street. I want to make sure he has a happy life full of friends and adventures so I'm wondering whats a good place where I can get him socialized with other dogs? Im planning to get him registered with the park district to take him to Canine Corners, but I wondered if there isnt some place where he can be socialized/trained. Im afraid that randoms at the dog park wont want him to interact with their dogs. I just dont know anybody with a dog though, and I want to socialize him before he gets too old.

My wife takes 2 of our 3 dogs to Forest City Dog Training Club. You can look at their website, http://www.forestcitydog.com/, for more info. They offer multiple levels of obedience classes, along with more specialized classes like agility, tricks, and rally (obedience based commands). The dog parks are a great place to socialize with other dogs. Everyone we’ve encountered is very nice and love the dogs interacting, as long as they are being civil.
