Brendan V. asked:Soo... I went to install a fireplace blower fan inside my gas fireplace and connect it to the receptacle that's installed inside at the bottom. Turns out the builder never wired it! (doh!) What are my options? The fireplace has a wall switch but I have a feeling its low voltage just to get the igniter going. Has anyone seen this? Any electrician can chime in and recommend a course of action + interested in this job?
Zach L. replied:Your switch on the wall is low voltage. You can tap into an existing outlet as the electrical load from the blower is minimal. The tricky part is getting the electrical into the fireplace as there is not much room to work with and is framed out. You may have drywall repair afterwards. www.certifiedproservices.com
