Curtain Up Drama is an exciting programme designed to encourage, nurture and develop talent and communication skills in young people. We cater for the needs of young performers whether they are budding talents or reserved and shy.
After-school and Saturday classes will contain theatre workshops where different acting techniques and activities will be explored. In addition each week the students will rehearse for a small end of term production so every child has their chance to shine, learn and develop. Students will be encouraged to bring their own experiences and imagination to every class, where they will develop weekly in theatrical and confidence skills.
Classes will include fun mime, imagination development, whole class drama games and rehearsals for our exciting end of term production. All students in the program will develop an increased self esteem in the way they perform, both in everyday life and on the stage.
Our early years programme follows a similar pattern, incorporating music and movement to keep the children involved and active.
Our "Show in a week" school holiday drama camps are jam packed with fun. The camps celebrate team-work at the same time as inspiring individual students to develop their performance skills. The children work at their own pace, discovering their own versatility as they master acting roles, improve their singing and learn exciting new dance routines. Friends and family will be invited in to see the final show at the end of the 4 or 5 day camp
Our aim is to inspire confidence in young learners and encourage them to express themselves through the arts, building on this confidence as each child develops at their own pace with the support of the group. Drama is an excellent outlet for a child’s imagination and our drama classes boost self-esteem and encourage teamwork and social interaction.
