WRONG Now, I know sometimes brides can get a little demanding and overly critical, so I will write the FACTS of my story below. 9/10/16 - My Wedding (Several friends/family commented about how Laurie didn't seem prepared and was unprofessional but I thought..maybe they are just being too critical and dismissed it) 10/17/16 - I text Laurie to ask how my photos are coming along and she says she's working on editing my 2K plus photos. The timeline I was given was 6-12 weeks from wedding date. 11/12/16 - I ask again and she says she is working on my photos in between "all of these mini fall and Christmas sessions." 12/9/16 - I ask again (past 12 weeks) - she says she has half edited but that I will have them all before Christmas. I ask if I can have some of the ones she's edited so far because I wanted to give some prints to family for Christmas. She tells me that I will have all edited pics by Christmas and that editing takes time. She goes on to tell me that "last Saturday I did 40 mini sessions, then Tuesday did a big ribbon cutting at Crumb for Layers and that HB Photography made it into the Bellevue magazine. Ive been so busy - I will be hiring an assistant for 2017." 12/26/16 - Now the day after Christmas - I ask again, saying I am getting frustrated. She tells me how she has been going through illnesses in her family. She said Kim (idk who this is) and her are working on photos and that there are 4K images she is still going through.... She also says she is working on mine and 4 other wedding photos. I told her that I am sorry she has been going through some things, but that as a professional, being this far past the deadline is not ok. She says she will start uploading images.. 1/6/17 - I look and there are 500 images uploaded..and multiples GALORE. So really, about 50 good, usable, images. 1/6/17 - I get a frantic phone call from Laurie saying that half of my images were on an external hard drive and that it had crashed and my images are lost. Surprisingly, I remained calm and said that as a professional, she should have backed them up. I also said that if I had gotten my photos back within the time frame promised, this wouldn't be an issue for me. She tells me how "this is just as bad for me as is it for you...I lost personal photos too." She says she will do whatever she can to make it right, but that the images are lost. She offers to bring me my photos on a thumb drive and to let her know what else I need to make it right. She uploads the images she still has onto the portal for me to see. 1/9/17 - Still no thumb drive, so I reach out to her. No response. 1/11/17-She tells me my "PIN" to download the photos myself. Tells me that "my contract has been fulfilled, since the minimum number of photos have been delivered." I do not have ANY photos from my "getting ready" portion of the day or of the detail shots taken of the ring, decor, shoes, etc. Most of my reception photos were also lost. I asked Laurie for the contact information for the second shooter, since she may still have copies of the photos she took. She tells me that she does not give out that information and that my contract has been fulfilled. I know that she has some great reviews, and thats one of the reasons I hired her! But it seems as though she is better with mini sessions than weddings. I don't think she is running her business like a business, so brides beware!
