  Putting up a detached garage, need advice and suggestions. I'm trying to get bids to put up a detached garage on my lot in Cedar Rapids. Am I looking for a general contractor who will do the entire project and coordinate any additional contractors needed (concrete, electrical, etc), or am I supposed to find a contractor for each aspect of the job and then get them to coordinate with each other in order to get it up? Also if anyone has any recommendation on people and/or companies you've used in the past and would recommend, I'm all ears. Thanks

  We used Cutter Construction to build our detached 30'x40' garage a couple summers ago. https://www.cutterconstructionllc.com/ They're a general contractor that lines up and coordinates all of the right subs at the right time, and makes sure they do a good job. We were very pleased by their work, and our garage is among the photos on their website. Feel free to reply or PM with questions. I was a bit apprehensive on how to go about the process of getting a garage built, but ours went very smooth, and the communication from the lead guy was outstanding.
