Recommendations for a therapist? I'm looking for a therapist/counselor/psychologist who can help me with some heavy trauma and issues arising from abuse. Previous therapist just let me talk and get it out and offered a bunch of CBT strategies, which helped short term but didn't really resolve my issues. I know that's kind of what therapy is like but I need someone who can really dig and help me process and get past these bad memories. There are a ton of options in the area but it's hard to sort through and find the right person.
It would be helpful if you could describe their general approach and the techniques that they used, as well as your experience with them if you're comfortable. Thank you and be safe!

I can’t speak to seeing a therapist on the level you are wanting, but I would use the [North Coast Association of Mental Health Professionals](http://www.ncamhp.org/index.html) and their directory to narrow down your search based on their specialties, if they are taking new patients, insurance, and more.
