Suggest a kind, patient dentist? First dental visit in 30+ years. (Background inside) Hi. I'm really nervous to post this. I need a dentist in Louisville near UofL. I have dental insurance through MetLife.
I haven't been to the dentist in over 30 years. My dad didn't think they were important and my mom didn't want to go against him.
I have all my teeth, though they are failing. I brush regularly and am very mindful of bad breath, etc. My teeth are white...ish? My gums are starting to recede.
I'm also terrified to go. I have a severe phobia of needles. Add to that I worry at least one of my teeth will break if they fiddle with it too much.
I'm looking for a dentist that will be patient and compassionate. I know I have a huge amount of dental work that needs done, and I know I should have handled this a long time ago, but I'm a coward.
I'd appreciate some recommendations.

My boyfriend has not been to the dentist in 10 years I just made him an appointment at Mortenson's Highlands (502) 473-2011 I used to work there and I know they are very kind and welcoming to new patients. They actually love new patients and we were always encouraged to try to get new people to sign up.
