  So my daughter has had a few minor accidents and I really don't want to turn this last one into my insurance company. She went to a few of the large corporate body shops and the estimates were for 1300+ and 1500+! Almost all of that was labor and they knew I was going to be self pay :/ Do we have some good family run body shops that are interested in helping and not robbing me?? I realize body work isn't cheap but these estimates were ridiculous!! Especially for the labor time they quoted for the amount of damage...Thanks :)

  Any good mechanics out there? We have a 1987 Volkswagon Cabriolet convertible that has been sitting in our garage for almost 10 years. Our daughter is turning 16 soon, so we need to have it "road-worthy" by the summer. We've already had it evaluated by a mechanic and been told that it has no major problems - just needs to be brought up to speed after sitting for so long. There is no rush on this job - it could just be a weekend project for someone. Also, you're welcome to work on it in our garage or we could have it towed to you. Let me know if interested?
