  Have used a Ram Mount suction cup mounted on a smooth, clean, gel-coat surface for over 10,000 miles of cruising, sometimes in some very rough water, and it hadn't failed yet. And we use our I-Pad with Garmin Blue Chart and Active Captain the whole time we are cruising, tapping on the screen frequently. We bought ours through Amazon. www.rammount.com

They clamp on nicely. the true Wheelchair mount ones have a much longer flexi-arm and are more $$. I wanna say we paid around $60 for the one we have.
