  Hi Cherrie (and the gang :) ) I am looking for some advice if you have it to offer. My homeschooled daughter, age 8, has dyslexia, and though I'm a speech/language pathologist and could target her deficits myself, I would like to try to find a center/individual to tutor her in her spelling, memory, and writing skills, to take some of the burden off myself (since she fights me tooth and nail on these skill areas). Her pediatrician recommended I try Tidewater learning center, but that's all the way on Pacific Ave in VB, and I live in Chesapeake near Hickory. Might you be able to recommend a good tutoring/therapy-style help for dyslexics in the Ches. area? I know there is a Kumon and a Sylvan Center near where we are, but I really know nothing about either place, and I strongly trust personal recommendations. I hear great things about Brain Balance, too, but am looking for something a little more affordable and target-specific if possible.
