  I've always loved the styles from Aria. Their showroom is in Boston, but there are a couple places in Chicagoland that carry them so they can be tried on. Otherwise they have a try on by mail program. The styles are classic & simple, can be made in a variety of fabrics, and are reasonably priced compared to most places. (A little more than David's Bridal, but only by $20-50 ish, depending on the dress.) http://www.ariadress.com/
