Hi Guys, I've always used Craigslist to buy and sell my vehicles, but lately it seems that almost every single posting or contact is a scammer or salvage. I need to buy from private seller not from a dealer. I'm in Arizona and sales tax is charged on dealer sales, but not on private sales. Where did all the good cars go? Any recommendations on sites you use to find used vehicles from private sellers?

Sarah I. replied:So....carguru.com is a great website. You can cross check the happiness/complaint factor by going on carcomplaint.com. Also, sometimes Craigslist can be fantastic. My neighbor sold a nice Solara that way. A $50 mechanic inspection can verify the quality. Finally, a friend has used CAR (Clintonville Auto Repair) for years and SWEARS by the owner's ability to track down a great used car at auction. I just bought a used Nissan Rogue using my first suggestion.
