help a curly girl out! I just moved to Arlington and am in need of a haircut in a bad way. I have curly hair and a history of bad hair cuts, and I generally find new salons/stylists based on yelp reviews or other similar sites. Not much luck this time. Can anyone with curly hair or curly-haired sisters/girlfriends/etc. recommend a place in or around Arlington?

All of the stylists at Parlour on U St (15 th and U NW http://parlourdc.com/) are devacurl trained. I just had my first haircut there after my favorite stylist moved away. She worked at a place called Fiddleheads in Dupont Circle. They are very curly hair-centric.

You're getting a haircut, not getting groceries! If you want to end your history of bad hair cuts, you will need to take the metro somewhere (our rail system is straightforward). A deva cut is necessary for curly hair. Straight-haired methods like wet-cutting will only get you to an acceptable cut, and you'll need to get your next hair cut sooner. A good haircut by a stylist comfortable with curls will save you time during styling, and money (and again, time)due to being able to stretch the time between hair cuts. I agree with Couplakooks about Parlour Salon! You can stalk my profile if you want to see some curl pics.
