  Dear hearts, we're in a pinch right now I am in need of some daily care--you know, the nasty business of commodes, bottom wiping, Cleaning , etc. We're looking into home health care (had it with blu X but Medicare isn't a helping) So my question is to our medical friends out there--where do we start? I think Mark would prefer me at a convel home where I can get the care that is Difficult to give Please help with suggestions If you know of people or places who could help This way Mark can concentrate more on our finances and I can concentrate on getting back on my feet.

  Val, call the hospital you just left. They usually have a social worker than can help with these things. They know the channels to go through. Also find out about temporary hospice care. As I said most hospitals have a department that can help with this. Do you have a supplemental medicare plan, or an HMO medicare alternative plan? Tomorrow call your local social services office, that handles, medi-caid, food stamps, etc. They can refer you to the agencies that can help you.
