About us
Dogs on Deployment supports the following under our foster network:
-Active duty, reservists, National Guard Members, Coast Guard during deployments, required command training, PCSing (under certain conditions) and hospitalization or treatment for Wounded Warriors, PTSD or other injuries sustained through military service.
-Honorably discharged veterans during homelessness when being assisted by the Veteran Affairs Department or other nationally recognized veteran housing assistance program, hospitalization or treatment for Wounded Warriors, PTSD or other injuries sustained through military service.
-Spouses of members meeting our requirements during emergency crisis such as illness, pregnancy, bankruptcy/eviction and more.
All pet owners under our network must register at www.dogsondeployment.org and are subject to approval by Dogs on Deployment administration. DoD reserves the right to refuse service to any user that does not meet our qualifications.
Dogs on Deployment provides financial grants, known as our Pet Chit Financial Assistance Program, to Active duty, reservists, National Guard Members, Coast Guard and veterans for the following:

-Spay and neuter initiatives
-Vaccinations and microchipping
-Overseas PCSing expenses
-Emergency kenneling
-Monetary assistance for help with pet supplies
All our grant recipients must meet our qualification requirements. All pet owners interested in grants must apply by emailing info@dogsondeployment.org and are subject to approval by Dogs on Deployment administration. DoD reserves the right to refuse service to any user that does not meet our qualifications.

Dogs D. asked:Okay I need some help guys if I go on this deployment at the end of December I need someone to watch my dog Budweiser for the 9 months I’m gone. He can’t be with other dogs and needs someone strong cause he will occasionally go after a squirrel if he sees one. He can also jump fences so can’t go out unless on a leash. I can pay for food and any vet expenses that come up. If anyone has ideas or knows anything about someone who would foster him while I’m gone I’d be really greatful. I don’t have my orders yet I don’t know when I’ll get them.

This would be for about 6 weeks. He doesnt want to surrender his dog. He would be fine with boarding it but that gets expensive for that amount of time. Any suggestions???

Her dog was trained to sniff out bombs and drugs. Now her time is done in the Air Force and she took a job offer to work for a civilian contractor in Kuwait. I'm looking for someone that might be willing to take in her dog for one year while she goes over seas. We would need someone that does not have any other dogs as he is not trained to be around other pets. He is a German Shepherd named Bartja and he has done a tour in Afghanistan. It needs to contain programs that offer pet food assistance (such as a food bank for animals), vet care (low cost or free wellness checkups, low cost spay/neuter programs), housing options (pet friendly across all 50 states). Too many people are having to surrender their fur kids because they don't know help is out there. I am not computer smart enough to do this on my own. I will help however I can by doing research, contacting rescues, vets, whatever. This would be my contribution to making this a better place for everyone. If it helps one person to keep their fur kids and not turn them into a shelter or abandon them. Then I have done a good thing.
