  Usually the power company will have the tree trimmed if it's near power lines - at no cost. Or at least when Xcel came out to trim my trees they didn't charge me - or any of my neighbors.   We just had ours done - several trees in the front yard taken down. We used Matt's Tree Service. We have an oak that hangs completely over the street to the other side and they told us to wait until winter to have that pruned. http://www.mattstreeservice.us/
