  HELP!!! I have 3 boxes who I have been feeding raw for about 6 weeks. I give them a chicken leg quater in afternoon and a Hamburger with organ in the morning. Last Monday my older dog Gracie got seriously ill. She was septic overnight. She was ok on sunday, then vomited during the night, by 7 am she was in septic shock. Her gums and eyes were white, she was walking like a drunken sailor and cold to the touch and very lethargic. At first the vet thought rat bait but that was quickly ruled out. Her white cell count was 68000. They kept her overnight for 2 nights on iv antibiotics then sent her home Wednesday with oral antibiotics for 7 days. Friday night another dog Fiona vomited, she seemed ok. No wobbly legs or any other symptoms. Saturday morning I noticed she was a little off I looked at her mouth it was getting pale as were her eyes. Of course being a holiday weekend the vet was closed. So I called the on call number, luckily got my regular vet. He told me to that since I already had meds for Gracie to go ahead and start Fiona on them and come into the office on Monday and pick up more. Both are doing better but the vet has no idea what could have made them sick. He suggested taking them off the raw chicken since that could be a possibility. My other dog Eve is fine, so any suggestions? Has anyone else had a problem like this? Just before they got sick I found a great deal on chicken leg quaters .79 lb which in my area is dirt cheap so I bought 100 lbs. Need help please

  Could you fashion something like a coyote roller from plastic plumbing tubing on a smaller pole inside so that it rotates when he tries to get a grip? brackets to the fence that the inner poles are attached to, leaving the outer tubes free to rotate? Might not be pretty but....

  Starlene James -- I put a link to coyoteroller.com on a different thread... this needs to be installed. Or if you have a handy person that can help your parents, it's a simple as clamps at one end, a strong steel cable, and larger rolling "pipe" that hangs on the steel. I can email an image if you'd like that will make it a piece of cake for a handyman to install.

  Leslie Jones I know I just updated the other thread. They need to install the coyote roller. I hope they didn't leave her out for "one minute" again ... Hopefully here's another safe return and that they're out there looking for her now.
