  Solar in Fresno Hey everyone! I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for a solar company in Fresno. We are looking at buying a system outright and there are hundreds of solar companies in Fresno. Many of the reviews seem fake or were posted for a free panel cleaning, discount, etc... I have read about many companies whose customer service disappears after the installation when maintenence is needed. We just are curious if there are people out there with legitimate referrals that aren't trying to get just a referral bonus. We've set up a meeting with Sun Run (through costco) already, but we want to get at least 5 bids since this is a large investment. Thanks!

  Did you look at the Hero program for Fresno? heroprogram.com Rebates via property tax, in addition to income tax credit. Not just solar, but other energy savings upgrades as well.

But I'm not knowledgeable about solar panels at all. What other good solar panel companies are there? And is there any personal experience with Horizon solar power? Thanks!

  I used Solar Now and the HERO program to finance mine. I own them, and it was no money out of my pocket, the loan is added to my property taxes over the next 15 years. It raises my mortgage a bit, but putting more towards my Escrow each month, it's do-able. I have 44 panels. https://www.heroprogram.com

  I liked the fact that I could choose my term up to 20 years (I believe), the process was quick, I inquired about the program in mid January, everything was done via email, however, I did call with questions a few times. I could choose and contractor that was HERO program approved, and I was installed and up and running by the end of February. The program also has other energy efficiency things you can do, solar isn't the only thing you can do.

  DO NOT USE THE HERO PROGRAM! they screwed my husband out of $20 k when he sold his other house and after a lawsuit was started they only wanted to give him the $10 k instead of the full amount.
