Am I correct that I should start at Plummer and head east for the flatest/downhill ride? My first time on the trail and need to do it in 8 hours with my son for his Boy Scout badge. Needless to say I don't want to kill myself with a lot of uphill.

Hello Jennifer. I'm not affiliated with this page, or the Trail, but I will offer a suggestions since nobody else is responding to you. http://friendsofcdatrails.org/CdA_Trail/index.html includes the following information about the various segments of the trail (no hill issues until you get into Silver Valley section) • prairie to lake segment from Plummer on the Palouse Prairie to Harrison on Lake Coeur d'Alene (downhill then flat for 15.3 miles) • river and lakes segment from Harrison along the Coeur d'Alene River to Enaville (flat for 31.8 miles) • Silver Valley segment from Enaville along the South Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River to Mullan (flat then uphill for 24.3 miles) John Kolbe at Pedal Pushers bike rental shop in Harrison - (208) 689-3436 (www.bikenorthidaho.com) is a good source of information - or Greg Marsh 208 651 3824
