  I have SafeDog crate and they were so helpful to deal with. They have pretty much one for every dog and car and they are crash tested. Also the inside can split by size of dog (I have 2 Dachsies one side and a medium terrier the other). They have many different heights as well as widths. Also they are lockable so you can leave your boot open at shows. They have a retailer in Crediton Devon. :) http://www.safedog.co.uk/

Parking in the shade and leaving all the car windows open worked on this occasion, but clearly that's not ideal in terms of security. Reflective windscreen shades will purchased ASAP. I've had a look on Google for car crates but am not really getting anywhere so recommendations/suggestions would be welcomed. Sadly I don't have the £££ for a tailgate guard (unless there are any significantly less expensive than Barjo?) so a crate it will need to be.

  Safedog.co.uk highly recommended! Not cheap, but likely (mine has) to last quite a lot of years, and so 'per year' works out at a good price. Also can be switched between cars. Mine is about 7-8 years old now and still going strong :)

  It's not always the size of the boot that makes the difference but sometimes the angle of the rear windscreen is too steep to take the corner of the cage. We have a Safedog.co.uk crash tested cage in our car (Kia Ceed estate) may be worth checking their website, as they are great cages :))
