Recommend good online personal finance professional for retirement planning Hello,
Want to have someone look over my parent's finances and recommend/build a plan for them to maximise their savings and figure out when they can retire comfortably. With COVID moving things online can someone recommend a professional?
How much should I be spending and how many sessions would I typically need with a professional?
If it helps, my parents both have pensions, one has a USS pension and one outstanding mortgage.
Thanks

You can use sites such as www.vouchedfor.co.uk and www.unbiased.co.uk to find financial advisers. With the current restrictions on travel etc, advisers are now working remotely using video conference software, so it is likely any adviser you find on those sites will have an online an offering. Vouched For displays advisers fees so you should find all the information you need on there.

A good place to start is asking friends and family if they have an adviser they trust and would recommend. Failing that, there are directories out there:
The Personal Finance Society - https://www.thepfs.org/yourmoney/find-an-adviser/
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment - https://www.financialplanning.org.uk/wayfinder/find-planner
These are directories for two of the main professional bodies, which is generally better than using a directory like VouchedFor or Unbiased.
I would suggest they arrange meetings with a number of different advisers to get a feel for them and what the potential fees would be. The initial consultation will be free and there will be no commitment to pay anything until they agree to go ahead with someone.
How do I find a good financial advisor? I have a high income job and I'd like some specific advice for my financial circumstances, on how to reduce tax liability, where to invest money, etc. How do I tell who is a good financial advisor and who isn't? What questions should I ask them?
If you're allowed to give recommendations, please do, I'm in Hampshire.

There are links in the sidebar for how to find an advisor. To save a scroll: For financial advice, consider seeking out a professional. You can use the following sites to help: [https://adviserbook.co.uk/](https://adviserbook.co.uk/) [https://www.thepfs.org/yourmoney/find-an-adviser/](https://www.thepfs.org/yourmoney/find-an-adviser/) [https://www.vouchedfor.co.uk](https://www.vouchedfor.co.uk/)

It's very difficult to tell who is a good financial adviser and who isn't. I know plenty who have very low technical knowledge but their clients love them because they're very personable so they build up trust; for most clients that's enough because they don't have complex needs. A good way to filter them out would be to only consider chartered financial planners and to arrange meetings with a few to see which ones you get a good feel for; there's no obligation during the initial meeting.
Hi, can anyone recommend a local solicitor with experience in new build conveyancing? Also, looking for recommendations for a mortgage advisor with experience of help to buy mortgages? Thank you.

Melissa Johnson thanks. Vicki Smith you may well have made contact with another adviser by now but if not I’d be happy to chat to you. I live in Woodley and you can see my client reviews here. https://www.vouchedfor.co.uk/.../30941-melanie-eastwood
Looking for a Finance Personal Advisor My wife and me moved recently to London. We had quite some money saved that we dont know what to do with it. I read a lot about the flow chart and advices about what to do with the money. However, everything is till quite unclear.
Hence, we decided that we will like to go to a personal financial advisor maybe a few times a year, who could advice us what to do and how to invest based on our assets and goals.
Do you know or is there any specialist that you would recommend where we could go to? Either a company or an individual.

You could look on https://www.unbiased.co.uk/ or https://www.vouchedfor.co.uk/, which are in the sidebar I believe. They'll allow you to search for financial advisers/planners local to you, and see reviews etc. Then it's a case of calling a few, asking about fees/explaining your requirements, then see who you like the sound of.
Hi can anyone recommend a free financial adviser please.

Www.Vouchedfor.co.uk is good to see who keeps clients happy. Ask for a free hour then agree next steps. As your other friends have stated, nothing in life is for free. What you want is to pay reasonably for advice which makes you significantly better off.
