  Anyone have a good eye doctor? haven't been to the eye doctor since Sears Optical was still a thing, just got great insurance for the first time in awhile, and am in *desperate* need of a new contacts prescription. Does anyone have an optometrist they like? Would prefer anything in a Boston zip code or the Waltham/Belmont/Cambridge area, but open to hearing any good recommendation! Thanks in advance!

  Dr. Crystal Klaahsen at [General Optical](https://www.generaloptical.com/) in Porter is *excellent*. She is, by far, the most thorough optometrist I've ever been to – she explains things clearly and is just really nice, as is her office staff. I've had to go back and forth over email with myriad questions about the intricacies of what my medical insurance covers *and* VSP covers and they're always patient and informative. Previously I had gone to Harvard Square Eye in Central and General Optical is a ***massive*** upgrade.
