  Hey Everyone! So I want to go to school at MUD in Burbank and I really don't know where to start when it comes to getting scholarships, grants, loans, etc. It's Saturday so I can't call the Financial Aid Office at the school until Monday, but I thought I could get a head start on the scholarships and what not. Can you guys help me out? Does anyone know any good scholarships that I can apply for? Special Effects Makeup is my passion and I just dont know how to go about getting the financial aid to pursue my dream. Help please?

  FacebookABWA (American Business women's association) They (MUD) will also be able to help you qualify for a loan, you can also enter the competitions at the makeup shows (IMATS) they give away scholarships to the 1 st, 2 nd place and shopping ($500.00) at makeup stores . Check Makeupmag.com for the next competitions which will be in Jan. The Theater dept. taught by Susan Watanabe, she does cover basic mold making etc.. Go to library and ask librarian for books on scholarships etc..

  There are other options, my first job while attending make up school was a porno back in the 80's.

  Well it depends on the state. Idaho I have to have a cosmetology license to do any sort of make up. So now I have to go to school just so I can do special-effects makeup. So you might want to check on that to see if you need to have a license to do make up in the state you live in

  ISO makeup artist for wedding. My sister is getting married Sept 20 and the makeup artist we had scheduled for three months now has cancelled on us. The wedding is 17 days away and I'm awake it's short notice. We would need someone from 8am-4pm that day. Please please comment on this post of you know of anyone that can do this. She has just turned 21 and has worked on one lifetime movie, she would love this opportunity to continue her passion, here is some of her amazing work!

  Jacqueline Mazyck is a phenomenal make up artist. I recommend her, and I see at least one other person in this comment thread recommends her as well. She also perfects eyebrows and eyelashes. Her artistry is exceptional, and she listens to her clients.
