Our landlord thinks they may have to spring for a new stove altogether because their electrician doesn't deal with appliances and the manufacturer of the stove doesn't have anyone local or nearby to look at it. The landlords would have to actually pull out the whole thing and transport it to wherever the nearest repair is for their company which is pretty much not an option. Any local recommendations for someone who specializes in appliance repair? I would hate for my landlords to have to replace the whole stove if the issue is something as simple as an element that needs to be replaced. We use our oven daily and it's a specialty stove not the usually GE or Hotpoint type thing. Our landlady said it was like a $4000 unit so I hate the idea of not being able to just repair it especially if the fix might be simple. It's a gas stove top with and electric oven. Never seen anything like that before but it can't be completely rare right!? Where are the appliance gurus so I can make a suggestion to my landlords!?Karen H. replied:Jon tom (?) fixed ours! Petra S. asked:Weird question but I thought I'd give it a whirl- my dishwasher randomly does not drain after a cycle. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes there's an inch of water on the bottom at the end of the cycle. There's nothing stuck in there food wise that I can feel (and this is a new washer so it shouldn't be broken, and the old one did the same thing sometimes) and so I'm at a loss. Anyone ever had that happen? Know how I can fix it? Know someone who knows how to fix it for me if it's something complex?
