  Anyone ever have a tailor make alterations to motorcycle gear? I'm curious if anyone has experience with having their gear altered to fit better. I have long arms and a skinny chest, so I tend to buy oversized clothing so that my sleeves are long enough. I did the same with my jacket, but there's too much room in the upper arms and chest, and I'm not feeling great about how the armor inserts float around. Mostly curious as to how one chose a tailor, things they asked, what they were looking for, etc. I've never had a simple pair of pants altered, much less my safety gear, so I'm kinda starting from scratch here.   If you're willing to send it away, I have a lot of experience with [Barnacle Bill](http://racingleather.com/) - I'm a recovering WERA racer and he has repaired my (and all my friends') crashed leathers. He can also scratch-build custom suits, if you need one.
