Thanks.Kiera R. replied:You can have anything in the world written on your business cards when you order them. Someone can have "insured" and not really be. Or they can give you a previously printed off piece of paper that has a policy number on it that is in fact outdated or cancelled. In the tree business, my husband has known of people buying an insurance policy, printing off dozens of copies of the "confirmation of policy" page and then cancelling it, all while still showing "confirmation" sheets months later and leaving the clients holding the bag when something goes wrong. That's why my husband has prospective tree work clients call his insurance agency personally to get confirmation of his policy. It's a sad state of affairs when you can't always take people at their word anymore. A man's word used to be better than any contract. But sadly, that's not the kind of world we live in anymore. All that to say, please get professional companies to do work as important as something that can cause damage to your property, belongings or home. Ask for their specific agents name to confirm everything is legit. Get options. And don't always go with the "steal" of a price, because sometimes (not always) someone is offering you that price because they are giving you substandard work.
