Has anyone gotten their house elevation done? Who did you use? Does insurance cover this expense?

Hope this helps...the new FEMA Advisory Flood Elevation maps are driving people crazy. The first thing you need to determine is where your home is now. Any surveyor should be able to issue a Flood Elevation Certificate. (we used Ron Post in TR 732 255-9050) This will tell you where your property is in relation to sea level and it will help you determine just how high you will have to go in order to be in compliance with the newly issued FEMA Advisory Based Flood Elevation (ABFE) maps. The following are 2 very useful websites: www.region2 coastal.com will help you determine where your home is on the Advisory Base Flood Elevation (ABFE) maps www.floodsmart.gov will help you determine the cost of your flood insurance in the future, based on your elevation
