Had new AC unit installed in 2017 using AHS by Rite Temp AC. The following year a capacitor blew and used AHS to have it replaced. The following year another capacitor "went bad" and was replaced again by AHS. Came out and knocked out it, worked for another year. These were band aids to a larger issue. The last AHS visit, after changing the capacitor for a third time in three years, the transformer in the attic unit blew. After watching this worker from another AC company test, and check, and change, and try many things over the course of an hour or two, he was fairly certain, and showed me where, the cord coming from the attic unit to the outside unit was spliced and said the (Jargon escapes me) solenoid that kicks on the compressor outside isn't getting the electricity it needs because of the split(Which you can visibly see). I call Rite Temp, who in their defense came out this evening and proceeded to tell me three things. Wayne said the other guys "did not know what they were doing," said, something about they were doing me a favor hooking up my AC unit incorrectly so it ran but then said I could not prove it was him because other technicians have serviced the machine and could have done the cord splicing. "Rats chewed the cord somewhere in the wall" he said as he tugged on the cable leading to the attic, which was causing the cord to lose voltage(Not the split, that was "doing me a favor") and not be 24 to start the compressor. Then after going inside and rummaging around the attic unit and messing with the thermostat told me my thermostat was no good and I need another part for outside. Get someone who, "Knows what they are doing" and I'll be fine. Then gathered his belongings and left.

I asked them to come and check if a float switch they put in 3 yrs ago failed or if it was installed wrong. I explained when i disconnect the switch the ac unit still stays on. They told me there would be a charge to check if it was installed correctly. So not I'm looking at repair cost for my AC and the ceiling it damaged. They don't believe in warranting or Atliest looking at something that could have been done wrong by their tech. I will never do business with a company that will say it's not my problem over the phone.
Well it's always something right? Midlo friends I need a name of a good A/C repair company. Go....
