Another friend, originally arriving tomorrow, has had to cancel today and has received a full refund. Not the cheapest but the most open and transparent. They do take a charge on your deposit, depends on whether you take their excess insurance or not. We always buy excess insurance here and they accept they will take a deposit (every car hire company does - don't go to Goldcar what ever you do, WHICH? consumer group say they are the worst in Europe and that's borne out by the number of complaints on Trip Advisor!). I have a friend who has an Owners Discount code for use with Helle Hollis which gets 15% off the overall price but even without that the prices they were quoting when we booked for this coming September were very good compared to most. Some people recommend Malagacar.com as well and I know people who have had successful hires through them.
