  We are looking to rent a house in NC or Tennessee over Spring Break to see some snow... Any place you would recommend? Sugar Mountain sounds good, but I am a Florida girl so I have NO idea... Are ski resorts still open in the middle of March?? We are looking for something within short driving distance.... Thanks!

  Last year for Spring Break we stayed in a cabin about a mile down the road from Cataloochie Ski Resort. It was still open and they were making snow but Maggie Valley is a ghost town at this time of the year. Great if you do not like crowds but a lot of the restaurants and businesses are still closed for the season. That being said, we made the drive to Sugar Mountain and it was snowing there and we had the best time! So worth the drive, in my opinion. http://www.skisugar.com/
