  Well in my opinion would be to find a nanny through a service like [care.com](https://care.com), [findababysitter.com](https://findababysitter.com), [weneedananny.com](https://weneedananny.com) etc. until you can sort out a more permanent childcare solution. They can help care for the your 13 month old until you can find another childcare that suits you and your family. You also have lots of different options that way as well, you have complete control of who you hire during that period. You also have the advantage of negotiating wages as well. Hope that helps xx

After interviewing it's a great idea to narrow down to favourite picks and have them come over for morning tea/little visit to spend time with the kids and see how everyone gets along.   Its hard out there, my wife was looking for the same, and they all want formal qualifications. Have they looked at doing some nanny work? I thibk the site is weneedananny.com.au or something. Might be worth a try, there are some long term jobs there, or it might atleast get money in while looking for a more permanant job.

  Just FYI going rate for a nanny should be 20-30 ph depending on experience. Also, from personal experience I found it was more important to find someone that we liked and clicked with rather than just looking at qualifications. Check out weneedananny.com.au too.

  I found mine on weneedananny.com - I advertised for a Nanny/Housekeeper. She is part of our family and has been with us for 16 months. She makes the beds, does the washing, does activities with the babies, cooks, drops kids at school, washes up - she's like a back-up me!
