The vet I took her to wants ~$1500 for this, and doesn't offer any kind of payment plan. After everything that's gone on, I just don't have that much cash laying around. So... Can anyone recommend a vet that works with people to afford care?

  I came across a dog yesterday in the back of a gentleman's truck that absolutely broke my heart. I waited for him to come outside and asked about the poor condition of his dog. He broke down in tears about how he's come across hard times and hasn't been able to give and get the care his dog needs. I told him I would reach out and see if I could get him some help. He thanked me and also accepted the bag of diatomaceous earth then immediately covered her, the dog, like I suggested. You could see the fleas dropping off of her and slowly suffocating in the diatomaceous. I'm reaching out to you guys to see if you have any suggestions as to where I could get her a free vet exam as well as free or low-cost flea medication and maybe a bag of good dog food. I am currently fostering for a rescue as well as have 2 big dogs of my own so my financial capabilities to help are limited. Any suggestions, recommendations, ideas, etc. are greatly appreciated!

  Food For Lane County receives donated dog food that they hand out. http://www.communityvet.org has low cost care. They were free to people in need but says $25 on their site. Pretty sure if they fill out the forms they get free care.

  I have had all good experiences with the VCA Westmoreland on 18 th and Chambers. It's just as expensive as any others though. I think they may still offer first appointments free and then $60 per visit from there on. If money is an issue then I suggest [Community Veterinary Center](http://www.communityvet.org/). They have limited hours and days but are much more affordable.

Now her vet is telling her that Mimi can't have it anymore because she needs a full work up, labs, and this and that to keep getting this stuff. Vanessa just got evicted & doesn't have the $.   there really is not much available in Eugene for low-cost vets. This is a community vet and they see patients on thursday, you have to call and leave a message and they will call you back. Good luck. Hope your kitty survives! community vet: 541-636-3324
