  Absolute Refinishing...he is AMAZING!!! Very dependable, very prompt, and very reasonable. We had our cast iron tub refinished three years ago, and it looks just as brand new as it did the day it was done. We have referred him to several people, and they have ALL been extremely happy with the work..I think our tub cost 350.00 to do...and, he can do it in place, or if you have a claw foot, he can take it off site to do it! 615.668.8439

  if you do it yourself the most important step is the prep work and required us to use muric acid (the crazy chemical that takes anything of cement) on our home tub - did it 10 years ago and it's still not chipping and looks good except around the drain. the kit comes with prep cleaner and when we used only the contents of the kit tthe paint didn't take. there's another process you can get on line that comes with other prep cleaners that works well but, the paint must be sprayed on - i think it's around $160. we've also used a fellow who owns and runs absolute refinishing (615) 668-8439 - he guarantees his work and is reasonable.
