3 nights I've been up with a cranky baby/toddler...anyone to give me tips of relieving constipation I haven't tried? Store medicine doesn't help...a.k.a. lactulose and restorolax....plz any suggestions other than supp's..

http://www.senokot.com/ they used to make a liquid. Corn syrup and be miserable if there is any corn syrup intolerance. If she is impacted, the doctor probably needs to treat her. Lots of fruit juice, prune juice etc.

They us e the Senokot regularly in clients ar work, and It is very effective.

Senokot works on mild constipation. But if u r so compacted it doesn't work. The lactulose she used is an oral laxative and didn't work. Didn't work for me either.
Rae-Anne D. replied:
Hmmm perhaps yes. Ut to my Knowledge Senokot is just a softener I thought.
Amanda E. replied:
Yes like Sam says. Senokot still has a liquid form. And corn syrup isn't such a good sugar to give a kid who has a lot of impacted shit. She could prob also take a small amount of magnesium citrate. It's the stuff they use before you have any rectal exams to clean you out (it's a oral) or pedia-lax. Sorry I know too much about constipation and all the remedies and products haha.
Sam B. replied:
I agree with the senokot. It is over the counter.
Rae-Anne D. replied:
Senokot. I think it is presceiption, but could be over the counter.
