  Lisa ... I do a lot of my camera purchasing at www.allenscamera.com which is located in Levittown, PA. They will compete with NYC prices but you do have PA sales tax but the 'crew knows their gear'. I shoot with Nikon and have an assortment of different lens to cover most anything. I normally head there on Friday nights when they are open until 8 PM. We sometimes have an impromptu 'meeting' with other photographers. Allen, Brandon, or Rob can ask the right questions before they will recommend cameras or lenses.

  I used a 75-300 lens for years with mixed results. When it worked it was great but it isn't fast enough to freeze the action unless you are in bright sunlight. Unfortunately the next step up would be to go with a fast zoom which is going to be well over $1000 even for a used one. I'd check out Allen's Camera in Bristol, PA too. They have an a lot of used equipment in very good condition. Their website lists most of their used inventory. www.allenscamera.com.

  glad Fred Lambert brought that up.... not 'all' lenses work with tele-ex's... got to do your hw or take a drive to Allen's Camera.... bring your camera and lens... that way you can make sure the fit and EX works together!!! http://allenscamera.com/
