  Hudson Urban Bicycles, 139 Charles Street in Greenwich Village. I know it's in faraway, uncool Manhattan, but it's a great place and they will hook you up. Ask about a "Henry," their custom-made one-speed lightweight "gentleman's bike." http://www.hubcycles.com/
