  Emergency Dental Assistance! So, I've ignored the cavity in one of my teeth for far too long, and over the last few days the pain has intensified and I need to deal with this ASAP. I understand I should've taken care of it before it got to to this point, and am dealing with the pain/expect the work to be expensive. Just based on what I've seen so far, I likely need x-rays, root canal, filling, the works - thankfully I have MetLife Dental Insurance. The issue I'm running into is finding a dentist who takes MetLife and would be able to help me - I've read reviews on "Kool Smiles" that say they're ill-equipped for an adult with a dental emergency, and the provider list isn't proving very helpful. ​ Has anyone had a "good" dental emergency experience in DC, or know of one that would take MetLife?

  Can't recommend [Virginia Dental Center](https://www.virginiadentalcenter.com/) enough. I had a previous dentist fill a cavity poorly, and he damaged the root in my tooth. I was furious and went to VDC to get a second opinion. They are awesome. Everyone from the dentists to the reception staff are great. I was referred to an endodontist who was very nice and gentle, and stayed with VDC for my regular dental checkups. The office is just a few blocks from Clarendon metro. I know it's VA, but seriously, worth a little more time and they take MetLife (I have that insurance too).

  These guys are amazing: http://www.virginiadentalcenter.com/ I picked Dr. Schobel because he went to Pennsylvania - the best dental school in the country. Really smart and kind, and was able to fix issues that 2-3 other dentists couldn't.
